Reallocation of homeland security funds concerns Langevin

The Department of Homeland Security has announced how $1.7 billion in grants will be distributed among the 50 states in 2006, and Rhode Island ranks 48th out of 50 states at $7.8 million. Congressman Jim Langevin, a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, remarked that he is "disappointed that state officials will be forced to become creative with our state's homeland security efforts due to decreased funding levels this year."
